Parental co-operation



Parents are requested in keep in mind the following
  1. The school wishes to inform the parents that since every school is basically a democratic institution and observes no protocol or preferential treatment, you may visit the school at appointed times, as parents only, not as somebody who holds a place of power and authority in the society. We wish to get your willing co-operation in this regard.
  2. Parents are requested to bear in mind that the school attaches great importance to building sound character in pupils. They are expected to co-operate with the school by making their children understand that well ordered life and disciplined way of life is as much important at home, as in school.
  3. When communicating with the principal parents are requested to mention in their letter the name, class, section and role number of their wards.
  4. Complaints, if any, should be made only to the principal, not to the teachers.
  5. Parents are welcome to the school. However, parents are not allowed to interact with teachers or meet their child/children or take home during the school hours, without the sanction of the principal. For all such cases parents are requested to make prior appointment with the school office in writing or over the phone. On last Saturday of every month (between 10:00 a.m to 12:30 p.m) the parents are encouraged to come to school and meet the teachers of their choice.
  6. Mount Carmel School is regulated by the rules and regulations as is applicable to Anglo-Indian Schools of West Bengal and at the same time covered/protected under Article 30 of the Indian Constitution protecting Christian Minority Institutions.
  7. Mount Carmel School is run by Dhupguri OCD North East India South Kerala Welfare Society, India, through its Governing Body and all the decisions regarding the management/running of the school is final.
  8. Parents and guardians are requested to co-operate with the school authority
    • Urging their wards to regular and punctual attendance.
    • Following up the reports which keep them informed of their diligence in studies and their behaviour in school.
    • Occasionally meeting the Principal to discuss means to ensure better progress in their wards’ studies.
    • Insisting on neatness and cleanliness in their dress, text books, exercise books etc.
    • Not sending for their children during class hours except in case of an unforeseen urgency, in which case a written application must be made to the Principal with the parent’s signature
    • Encouraging their children to take part in the co-curricular activities of the school.
    • Parents/Guardians are not allowed to send/bring Tiffin or any other material to be handed over to their ward if she forgets to bring it along with her in the morning.
    • Parents are strictly advised to consult the Principal concerning private tuitions.
